The City of Winston was established in 1953. Winston is located 7 miles southwest of Roseburg. Winston has a growing population of about 5400 residents. Currently the city has about 2200 residential homes.

Surrounded by the South Umpqua River, Winston offers the convenience of small town living with the feasibility of supporting large commercial growth with its location on Hwy 42 and Hwy 99. Winston is best known as being the home of Wildlife Safari.
